“The Rapture”, a strategy for dealing with or speeding up Runaway Abrupt Climate Change?

Evangelical Christians have captured the White House that slaves built and with a steady supply of cheeseburgers and ego-massaging they have control of the “Twitterer in Chief”.
These lunatics believe in “The Rapture” and hastening it’s arrival.
“Just like many other Christian brothers and sisters, I eagerly long for the second coming of the Lord Jesus. We abide by the following passage from the Bible: “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1Ts 4:17). For this reason, we foolishly look up to the skies longing for the day that Jesus will return and take us up into the clouds so that we can be with the Lord.””The Lord is trustworthy. The Lord promised that He would take us into the heavenly kingdom in the last days. The Lord’s promise certainly will be accomplished and fulfilled.”

These psychopaths and sociopaths see climate change as ‘Gods will’ and fossil fuels are his gift to power the rapture. At the time of writing, the momentum to impeach is building relentlessly (so much for the democratic process!!! ),with the fundamentalist Mike Pence ready and waiting to step into the breach the minute the twitter in chief has an ‘accident’.
“But there may be another secret to Pruitt’s tenacious grip on the agency that he’s busy undermining. Like several other members of the constantly churning Trump Administration who’ve managed to hold fast—Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, and Vice-President Mike Pence—Pruitt is an evangelical Christian.” Are Evangelical Leaders Saving Scott Pruit’s Job
Climate Scientist Katharine Heyhoe is another case in point;”She’s an evangelical Christian. Her husband is an evangelical pastor, even, in a faith whose followers are largely skeptical of climate science.” Texas scientist and evangelical takes to the web

How on earth could you trust a scientist who believes in an ‘Immaculate conception’ and creationism??

“Well this is where hope is, right here in this room, ah it’s with us”.
Then we have the erudite Chris Hedges who one day challenges the fact that ‘Hope’ is unimpeachably good, then the next moment opens a presentation with the ridiculous comment above and looks like he is on the brink of crying at the 1m 50s mark! Generally I enjoy Chris Hedges writing and presentations but every analysis from him is clouded by his belief in a (presumably?) white guy on a surf board flying around in the clouds, who is supposedly omni-potent but stands aside watching as the military industrial complex rains bombs down on the people of Yemen, Syria and Gaza and surfs blithely by as we exterminate 150 to 200 species daily.

Discussing her “ministry” to the U.N. last year, Bachmann claimed that “the return of Jesus Christ is imminent,” and noted that “the clock is striking 11:59 on God’s time clock and as history is culminating in as read in Revelation.”

Bachmann explained the supposed importance of her new mission:

I believe that God is starting a new thing, and because the time is short before Christ comes again to this earth, He is giving everyone one more chance.

Evangelical leaders are pushing President Trump to name former congresswoman and Christian extremist Michelle Bachmann next ambassador to the United Nations.

“First thing in the morning on April 5, before a meeting chaired by Representative John Shimkus and another with the Solar Energy Industry Association, Energy Secretary Rick Perry headed to the Department of Health and Human Services, according to a copy of Perry’s schedule obtained by Fusion. There, Perry was scheduled to meet for an hour-long “Cabinet Member Bible Study. He has praised the new administration for its power to “change the course of America in ways that are biblical.”
“It is safe to say that God is a Capitalist,” Drollinger once wrote, “not a Communist.” In a January radio interview, Drollinger praised then-senator Jeff Sessions, who “hungers and thirsts for the Scripture,”
“Vice President Mike Pence, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, nominee for Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, HHS Secretary Tom Price, and Scott Pruitt, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, have all sponsored the Capitol Ministries Cabinet Bible study, according to literature put out by Capitol Ministries.”
“Drollinger also argues that climate change is impossible because God promised after The Flood never to do anything like that again. Drollinger preaches against “radical environmentalism” and that to believe that human activity could have devastating impact on the environment is not just mistaken, but the result of godless pride: “To think that man can alter the earth’s ecosystem—when God remains omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent in the current affairs of mankind—is to more than subtly espouse an ultra-hubristic, secular worldview relative to the supremacy and importance of man,” Drollinger wrote recently. “It follows that we can all rest assured and wholly rely on God’s aforementioned promises pertaining to His ability and willingness to sustain our world’s ecosystem.” Many thanks to political analyst John Steppling for the lead to the link; The Trump Cabinet Has It’s Own Weekly Far Right Biblical Study Group

This is the level of Insanity and Delusion existing in the US administration as we rush headlong towards annihilation.

I'm an anti-imperialist, environmental activist and blue ocean sailor, who is passionate about the earth and all it's inhabitants without favour. Brace for imminent impact as we bare witness to the non-linear unraveling of the biosphere and habitability disappearing for most if not all complex life on the only habitable planet we know of. To quote President Niinistö in North Russia: ‘If We Lose the Arctic, We Lose the World’. Folks we have lost the Arctic.

  1. You just can’t make this shit up, Kevin.

This is from my home beach news down in Ocean Beach-San Diego. The comments…well, we just couldn’t help ourselves now can we? I’m sure these folks know I’m gonna burn in their ‘loving god’s hell!’ Religion is the BANE of human existence. How much more pleasant would this planet be without it I wonder? Hard to imagine that much less strife and misery, eh?

Sure hope these people die of this disease so I can piss on their graves. I’m real tired of stupid but then in a worldwide Pandemic I’m not about to hop on a plane and fly south to do so. I can only hope that someone else that lives down there thinks of it.

I’m feeling especially cranky today. I’ve got to stop reading reality LALALALALALA palms over eyes! Two more article links below this short cut& paste to continue to rub the religion button raw! This is like wading through pig shit and yes I know what that smells like.

Small Group Burns Masks as ‘Tools of Terror’ in Protest in Mission Bay Park

As if casting out demons, dozens of people tossed pricey KN95 face masks into a fire pit Friday in Mission Bay Park.

The coverings were depicted as “tools of terror” being used to “turn neighbor against neighbor.” They were a “precursor to adult mandatory vaccination” and “getting everybody angry.”

Said one older man, wearing a “MAGA FIGHT CLUB” shirt: “I’m ready to die for this mission” but: “First of all, we need to get Trump re-elected.”

The discarded five-layer masks — fresh from their cellophane packaging — carried their own defiant messages into the Ski Beach flames at an event labeled “Burn Your Mask Bonfire.”

Examples included: “This mask is as useless as Gavin Newsom,” “Lies by the mainstream media” and “Nice try, Satan.”

A woman with a young girl tossed many masks. One was labeled: “This mask does not protect you or me.” Another said: “Jesus and only Jesus can save.”

As two officers watched from a San Diego police vehicle, the event organized by Amber Lynn Gilles of Starbucks mask-refusal fame could be mistaken for any other beach gathering. (But no marshmallows were roasted. In fact, no refreshments were served at the two-hour rally.)

A handful of critical observers wore masks but didn’t get into the faces of the three dozen responding to Gilles’ summons on Facebook. One man labeled the group “batshit crazy” and rode away on his bike saying “people are dying.”

The event began about 40 minutes late — with an entertainer unable to activate a small gasoline generator. It was meant to provide electricity for amplifiers.

So the barefoot Gilles went to Plan B, moving featured speakers to the fire pit instead of a grassy overlook.

Most passionate was Genevieve Peters, whose 22-minute May 7 video of being kicked out of a Rancho Palos Verdes Trader Joe’s has 144,000 views (and many more on other channels).

“For millions of years, we have had viruses. … We have had bacteria. And all sorts of … microorganisms,” she said, searching for the right pronunciation. When they are infectious, she declared, “God gave us our immune system.”

She touted hydroxychloroquine as a way to prevent COVID-19 and urged the crowd to watch “America’s Frontline Doctors,” the viral video that health experts have denounced as dangerous.

Peters insisted that countries using hydroxychloroquine to treat malaria can boast of only one or two deaths per million. But that belief, promoted by President Trump, has been debunked. (Few people in malaria-prone countries are even taking such drugs, said factcheck.org.)

She likened Americans obeying mask rules to Jews following Nazi edicts amid the Holocaust.

“When people (say) I’m not being kind and … thoughtful — I might as well get on that train in Germany as well,” she said before leading a chant of “Do not comply, do not comply.”

Peters was followed by Joshua Coleman, who contends his 6-year-old son Otto was partially paralyzed after receiving vaccinations when he was 17 months old.

Coleman’s overriding concern was that “adult mandatory vaccination is coming.”

Next was Orange County’s Carmen Estel, whose website calls her “a Holy Fire Reiki Master Practitioner” who channels healing methods from Jesus and angels.

Estel was adamant: “You cannot be living in faith if you’re living in fear” of the virus. “I am not dying in my time. I am dying in God’s time. … If God wants me to die of the virus, I will die of the virus.”

She said darkness can exist only in the absence of light.

“So when it comes to [Gov. Gavin] Newsom, all we have to do is keep shining a light on that dark mother-effer,” she said, pausing before the near-vulgarity.

Estel said nobody sees anyone dying of COVID. She seemed to backtrack a moment later.

“Everybody is clued in now. This isn’t really happening,” she said at sunset. “The hospitals are empty. Nurses are furloughed. Have you all noticed this?”

Three rappers, including an apparently married couple, performed for 10 minutes, followed by Estel handing the brand-new face masks out of a box, offering marker pens to inscribe notes before the roasting.

A prayer ended the event just before 8:30 p.m. Everyone held hands.

    The Pandemic Disproves God

    Welcome to the Trumpocalypse

Maybe the administration would take a bit more care with the coronavirus pandemic if it weren’t loaded with folks who are looking forward to the end of the world

    • Since these are the people that really push their mental aberrations, I thought people would REALLY enjoy looking at this link about serious nautical matters (especially you, Kevin!). Be prepared for…DUMBKIRK!

Oh, you have just got to look at this and realize this just happened. For real. The stupids are so stupid it burns. I laughed so hard I snorted chilled sun tea out my nose. I’m not kidding, and it was uncomfortable but I couldn’t stop laughing. With all that is going on in this fucked-up 3rd world country, real laughter is far and few between.

The only thing missing from these pictures (and the short vid I couldn’t watch but heard about from my surf buddie in the Islands last night who did) is the Jesus Flag, a few Wolf’s Angel flags, and maybe a couple of Swastika flags alongside the stars and stripe flags.

Hold onto your hats, start bailing with anything you’ve got!

    • Justin says:

You guys really hate Christians huh?
      Well that’s not unusual.
      Climate Change is gonna Kill.

      • Well, the last sentence of this reply made sense of a sort…except that I’d change the wording to Climate Collapse and that it has already, and will continue, killing an enormous number of Earthlings every day. Along with the insane extinction numbers of species caused by the dominant primate’s industrialized and rapid destruction of habitat…Earthlings being, of course, everything that is alive on the planet not just limited to one specific species of which you are a part of, Justin.

As for how not unusual it is to “really hate Christians huh” I guess you don’t look too deeply underneath the facade to get a glimpse of the hypocrisy of the majority who call themselves that? Especially the so-called ‘leaders’ of the herd! Read through the links that have been posted on this thread if you want to have a better grasp of that. It isn’t a pretty sight to see I must admit, but people tend to ignore their own behavior that exposes the sad fact that they don’t follow much of any of the basic rules that their Christ supposedly said.

But running from cognitive dissonance is pretty normal for our species, isn’t it? To see that happen right in front of you to someone else is quite startling…but how much worse it must be when it happens to your own brain. When you have the gears in your head jam up; boy does that look painful. I’ve seen it happen.

That Arab Semite Hebrew dude you are talking about, the one used as the figurehead of this splintered-off subsection of that Western Asia cult, seems to have laid out a few specific codes of conduct to follow to change, to improve, the religion he was born into. That ‘Sermon on the Mount’ certainly isn’t followed in truth very much by those that loudly profess such beliefs. I mean, Onward Christian Soldiers isn’t exactly a Prince of Peace song that he would have promoted now is it? And the concepts of love one another, turn the other cheek, feed the poor, succor the weak? I have a bumper sticker on the back of my truck that reads:

Get Real. As if Jesus would ever own a gun and vote Republican.

I walked out of a store once and found a woman standing there reading my stickers. You know what her comment was? And I quote “NOT MY JESUS!” I asked her what caliber of handgun did she think Jesus would have carried. Her face…I wish I had a camera. I think she had a cognitive dissonance moment because she was absolutely unable to speak for a few seconds and made strange grunting noises instead.

That we have a terribly garbled message from second-hand sources (or 3rd or 10th etc etc) of ‘what he said’ written by unknown persons started at least 400 years after death, and not a single piece of writing that was actually written by him, doesn’t help much. Trying to separate fact from myth and fiction to help understand and get past the prejudices inherent in a Bronze Age civilization ruled by Kings and built by slaves who thought lightning was thrown by pissed-off gods and disease was a sign of displeasure from them…is just about impossible.

I understand that belief in gods was just a way to try to explain what our ancestors didn’t understand, but with modern science we have come to understand a hell of a lot about natural processes and we don’t need the mysticism and myths any longer…excepting those of us (and that’s a majority I’m afraid) that are still stuck with Bronze and Iron Age thinking being unable to process new information that contradicts what their society requires them to not think about. Questioning authority is frowned upon.

Belief is NOT THINKING, Justin, it is a herd mentality of follow the leader that we have not, as a species, grown out of yet. And look where that has got us! A ravaged planet, a dying ecosystem and acidifying ocean, destroyed habitats, wars and hate and destruction and a planet grossly overpopulated by two-legged primates who invented microscopes and flew to the moon but act like locusts literally using every natural resource up as quickly as they can…in order to gain wealth and status while having more babies.

And it’s not just the sons-of-Abraham Western Asia ones; look at India or China with their degraded and collapsing habitats. Hindu-based in one and a very mixed bag of beliefs in the other with about a billion and a half of our species in each country. More than a third of the total population of the planet! And they are chewing through what’s left of their finite resources just as we are with an exploding population that shows no sign of slowing down…

If our species somehow survives the bottleneck we are in without going back to being Bronze Age (or way back to the Sticks, Stones, and Sharpened Bones Age), and manages to keep a grasp of a good portion of the knowledge we have gained in the last few hundred years… I know, this is looking more unlikely by the day but let’s just imagine! If the thinking/processing intelligence we have shown that we have could somehow come out on top and shape a new pattern of living for our species without the violent divisive confrontational behavior of religious beliefs that separate us all from understanding that we are just ONE SPECIES among many on this planet; get rid of the damned ‘every group vs THE OTHERS’ pattern that is so prevalent in our behavior, maybe we might survive as a species who gets out of childhood and matures into a mature thinking adults that we have the potential to become.

But with the damage already done and with distinctly horrifying consequences facing us due to that damage…not much chance.

These Bronze Age belief systems of control imposed on children have a direct and horrible impact on all of this because that 0-5 age group is when our species is most vulnerable to being warped and detached from the reality of what and who we really are. And religion and greed seem to be unfortunately tied together in a knot and there doesn’t seem to be any way to get them separated except to start early and NOT teach the children these myths. The Founding Fathers of this country tried to impose this division by explicitly writing a separation of church and state in our Constitution, but like so much else, it’s poisoned by those that benefit.

And I’m sure you were indoctrinated in your childhood. I’m sorry there isn’t anything I can do to fix that except invite you to read and think, but then again belief doesn’t like critical thinking skills. Big sigh.

    • Kevin Hester says:

Seal your book arrived, the postage was ridiculous, put your shop link here and I’ll pay it.
It’s in a long que but I’ll get to it, many thanks.

      • Glad it finally arrived! I was wondering if they were going to ‘lose’ it. And I agree about the postage, I couldn’t believe it when the clerk said that USPS had cancelled ‘economy shipping’ and ‘media mail’ to out of country addresses. The last time I shipped something in that direction was decades ago, surfer friends in OZ, but I wanted you to have a copy and I decided to eat the cost if I had to. Thanks for being willing to cover it!

What is awful is that anyone writing a book in the US is facing this, I’ve got riversurfer friends in Austria that may not because of this. Bummer!

I’m getting very good reviews from people who are reading it. The most common one so far? “This is pretty intense! But it’s hard to put down.” Yeah, well, so was your shark story and the travels in Africa story!

My Paypal link is my email address you see in my sign-in. My shop right now is having ‘issues’ because it’s an old program, and the update the webmaster just did worked fine but the shopping cart wouldn’t work with it so they had to delete the update and start building a entirely new site & shopping cart to work with all the new apps on cellphones that people are using to buy the book (and gear I build for that matter). I’ve got three orders, two from Oregon and one from NorCal, that were unable to get through the checkout but people that are signing in and clicking on the ‘send check or money order’ haven’t had any problem. Nor did yo when you ordered it for some reason. Damn glitchy machines… So just go to Paypal and put in my email and it should pop right up.

I’ll send you an email confirming this.

  2. Kevin Hester says:

“Mr. Pompeo talks about the rapture. “We will continue to fight these battles,” he said at a “God and Country Rally” in 2015, because there is a “never-ending struggle” until “the rapture.”

“Be part of it,” he said at the meeting, at the Summit church in Wichita, Kan. “Be in the fight.”

    • Ya do realize that Trump doesn’t believe a word of it, though. If he was a ‘believer’ like psycho Pompous Maximus and Pence the robotman he NEVER would have held that bible upside down in that photo op a while back because he would have known that the bookmark never points down! Bet those two losers, and like billionaire Education Sec Besty Prince-DeVos, would never have made that mistake!

Thought you might actually enjoy this read. In a way it is kind of heartening:

      Watching Religion Die

Religion is fading more quickly in the United States than in any other nation, according to a forthcoming research book.

…but not fast enough for me!
