Speed Kills Everything

This data for me undoubtedly represents runaway abrupt climate change.  We have now entered the exponential phase of this catastrophe and have drifted, leader-less into uncharted territory.

My hope is that in a year from now I will be proven wrong.  If so I will be the happiest and most surprised follower of the great Boomer Warrior blog:

The Warmest February on Record:

‘Global warming is speeding up. Just released NASA data shows that February 2016 was the first month ever that global average temperatures passed the 1.5C mark. The previous record was January 2016 at 1.14C hotter than average. That was broken by the December 2015 record of 1.10C. We are entering a new phase of accelerated heating up. We are now in global warming overdrive.

Never before have average temperatures across the Northern Hemisphere breached the 2C mark. It’s likely the first time since the beginning of human civilization‘.  Article continues here:   ‘Global Warming on Speed‘.

I'm an anti-imperialist, environmental activist and blue ocean sailor, who is passionate about the earth and all it's inhabitants without favour. Brace for imminent impact as we bare witness to the non-linear unraveling of the biosphere and habitability disappearing for most if not all complex life on the only habitable planet we know of. To quote President Niinistö in North Russia: ‘If We Lose the Arctic, We Lose the World’. Folks we have lost the Arctic.

    Yep. Never any good news.

And it was 90’F three days ago here in these mountains on the Canadian Border, and 88’F yesterday, and somewhere in the mid-80s at least (didn’t check the thermometer today) today. Flip-flops and short pants & sunglasses & hat is mandatory. Feels like what used to be early summer but of course early summer weather here has changed to being over 100’F instead of the last frosts of twenty years ago.

    Big sigh.

A young friend was just de-‘mobilized’ from the fourth fire he’s been called out on over the last 72 days. He’s been home for 2 days in that time period since he’d be driving home when a call would come in from his FS contractor boss telling him to turn around and go elsewhere. He drives a water tanker truck. He’s also my mechanic and maybe now he can fix my busted old 4runner where Bambi’s little brother decided to commit suicide by truck a number of weeks ago. I haven’t been driving at night at all because the left front end is all busted up though it doesn’t look bad from a distance which is why I probably haven’t been stopped and ticketed so far…but I’m only drive maybe 100 miles a month at this point.

As a deep-water sailor you aren’t going to like this one, Kevin. As a 60 year surfer I didn’t…

Johan Rockström is such a quisling gate keeper, he has been saying that we are at 1.2C above baseline! FFS, 1 C under reality!
I’m preparing a rebuttal as we speak and will post it when complete.
    Good luck dude!

Kevin Hester is currently living on Rakino Island, a small island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand, monitoring the unravelling of the biosphere and volunteering at the Rakino Island Nursery is currently developing a proposal to create a marine reserve near by. The Island has no grid tied electricity or reticulated water.  I catch my own water from the roof and generate my electricity from the ample solar radiation on the island.
