Class War on the Sinking Titanic

A Metaphor for a Dying Planet.I’ve completed 16 ocean passages in the Pacific Ocean on small yachts between 37 and 75 feet. More than half of them as skipper. I sailed 5000miles in the 37-footer at an average speed of

Using “Pre-Industrial” as a Measure of Anthropogenic Warming was an Omnicidal, Irreversible Mistake

A recurring theme, as we chronicle the unravelling of the biosphere, is the term “Sooner than Previously Thought”. Every prediction of cause and effect in the climate system is happening much sooner than expected or predicted.Clearly, we have grossly underestimated

Planetary Gas Chamber not “Climate Change”

We have been aware that burning fossil fuels would alter, destabilise and warm the atmosphere since at least 1847 and the narrative has been controlled since shortly thereafter. Had we described the phenomenon as creating what it is, a “Planetary

Chronicling Ecosystem Collapse from the Tropics to the Antarctic

“We assessed evidence of collapse in 19 ecosystems (both terrestrial and marine) along a 58° latitudinal gradient for which major signals of change have been reported.” Combating ecosystem collapse from the tropics to the Antarctic A better title would have

Why the Arctic Sea Ice Matters to All Complex Life on the Planet

“President Niinistö in North Russia: ‘If We Lose the Arctic, We Lose the World’”Clearly we have lost the Arctic as one of our major planetary thermostats. Myself, Beryl Sirmacek, John Doyle and Arctic Oceanographer Jim Massa discuss the unravelling in

Tim Merges the Worst Climate News in History with Epic Images

As we get closer to the collapse of the biosphere, I have been noticing a huge distortion, if not outright lying, in the use of baseline figures for the planetary temperature increase that humans have caused with our crack like

“If We Lose the Arctic We Lose the Globe” We’ve Lost the Arctic

“Changes will happen decades earlier than previously thought.” Now where have we heard that before? “More rain than snow will fall in the Arctic and this transition will occur decades earlier than previously predicted, a new study led by the

Kevin Hester

Kevin Hester is currently living on Rakino Island, a small island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand, monitoring the unravelling of the biosphere and volunteering at the Rakino Island Nursery is currently developing a proposal to create a marine reserve near by. The Island has no grid tied electricity or reticulated water.  I catch my own water from the roof and generate my electricity from the ample solar radiation on the island.
