This seems to be the direction a majority of our species ‘leaders’ really wants to pursue. Never ending warfare has always been a part of reality across the planet anyway, ya know? And this makes it so easy.
But whomever starts losing and they have nuclear capability and decent engineers, I’m guessing that very small, drone-sized ‘low yield’ easily targeted WMDs will be engineered quickly and put to use. Why start a major war when you can light one of these off right outside the window of the politicians and generals who are causing you problems?
Weaponized drones operated by cops will become a ‘normalized’ pattern, too, sometime soon I’m guessing. I’ve noticed that everything used in warfare gets shifted into police hands at one point or another…

Having that 1st generation-born Japanese-American stepmom, I kept getting in trouble in Elementary school during the bomb drills and afterwards because I repeated what I heard from her phone conversations with her family, and the conversations between my parents. Especially during the Cuban Missile Crisis. My beach school was about 3 air miles from Ground Zero, and the second was even closer. I knew the drills were a joke by 8 yrs old. It did not endear me to the other little beach kids that I said so. Nor to the teachers. Or the principles and other administrators.
So now, over 60 years later, I’m literally waiting for the stupid people to do something so sublimely stupid that…well, you know. Seems like, according to this woman, New Zealand and Australia will be spared from direct bombing.
Now there is some freaking Hopium thinking for ya. Even though there are now supposedly ‘only’ (and how does she really know this? Would ANY government tell her the truth??) 1,000 nuclear weapons ready to go except there are 6,000 or so each in the US and Russia alone.

That leaves a LOT of missiles to be aimed at other places. Oh, and we mustn’t forget (I’m assuming here) that most of these modern rockets are not armed with just a single warhead, which is oh-so-1950s tech, but by multiple independently-targeted reentry vehicles. Like the US Trident ones on subs, 18, that are on EACH missile. I’m sure the Russians and everybody else has also done the same, yes?
So that 70,000 not around anymore that she crows about is rather deceptive don’t you think? That 1,000 ready to launch automatically becomes 18,000. Independent means aiming, and what are they aimed at? Dams, railroads, power stations, there are so many that the militaries will run out of targets!
Sure, they are smaller kt warheads but the smallest is magnitudes larger/more destructive than what the US dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
In other words, there’s going to be plenty left to plaster Aus & NZ just because, ya know?
When you suddenly see a large influx of wealthy flying or sailing into your territorial waters to get to their bunkers…. Personally, if I was NZ, I’d have a very strong blockade back up by force to keep people out.
Of course, that’s if even the wealthy are as informed as they think they are.
It may not be like that old 50s book and the movies they made from it, but Down Under isn’t going to escape Nuclear Winter even if nobody lobs anything at your cities and infrastructure…

Pretty gloomy tonight I guess. There’s just too much to process and none of it is good news. I think I’m overloading at the moment. Sheesh.
Tomorrow I drive over to a friend’s house to loan him a spare dvd player because his computer cannot play the 5 George Carlin live shows I loaned him, nor can it play the first two seasons of South Park he also borrowed off the movie shelf. He was bummed when his computer didn’t play any of them, but I have spare machines in my electronics closet (part of the perks of being the fix-it guy at a 2nd hand store for 13 years). He’s even talking about cooking some bbq burgers or something. And I have a treat as my little brother was up two weeks ago from NorCal and brought me extra special smoking material from Humboldt & Mendocino Counties that immediately went into sealed glass jars to keep that taste and smell alive!! Yum-Yum!

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels .
The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.
Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from “No worries” to “She’ll be alright, Mate.” Two more escalation levels remain: “Crikey! I think we’ll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!” and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level.

Compared to the luxury bunkers with bowling alleys and movie theaters now, this is like a child’s drawing! How…quaint they were back then. As a kid I didn’t know of anybody that had one in their backyard though I’m sure there were a few….
There is one of these buildings in Chewelah, a very large 2-story corrugated metal Quonset Hut, probably ex-military surplus type. Used to have an old school-style hardware store inside it. Huge cavernous building that had to be dang expensive to heat in the winter! Now…it’s one of at least a dozen logging companies’ office that is helping tear down the local forests.

What “Fleet?” Three ships? One being a freaking ice breaker? Putin sent an Ice Breaker to Cuba? REALLY? That is SO funny!
And a single sub? Though that sub probably has MIRV missiles on it like the US ones do… So one new-looking warship, one sub, an Ice Breaker, and what looks like a Signals ship constitute a Russian Fleet now?

But it says it is a response because the US gave permission to Ukraine to use US-supplied missiles to “hit Russian targets NEAR Ukraine’s border.” Oh yeah, there’s always that, eh?
And what SIDE of the border does “near” mean to the US war boys or the Ukraine military? 20 miles, a hundred miles? Two hundred miles?
Since straight line flight distance from Kiev, Ukraine to Moscow, Russia is 471 miles, and Kiev is way far west from the actual border, we’re talking about maybe just a couple hundred miles? Less? Flight time measured in a few short minutes for US missiles?
And who in power in the US is so stupid to think that the neo-Fascist nationalists the US helped to power in 2014 are going to not throw missiles at Moscow? They’ve already used drones to hit Moscow, yes? And two Russian early-warning radar sites much farther away to the south of Moscow I think it was.
The strident propaganda being spewed from each carefully-implanted word in this vid are well ‘designed to trigger emotional responses’ with these sentences. Quite artful in its way don’t you think? Good psychologists the US military owns.
This Raddatz news woman uses such excellently-placed emphasis on certain words, too, along with her earnest facial expressions trying to convey such immediate emergency fear.
And the ships will stay there (within 90 miles of the US) for ‘several days.’ Oh the horror! And the USA has how many REAL fleets sitting off coastlines all around the world? Hypocrites!
