Non-Linearity in the Climate System

“The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to truly understand the exponential function”, Albert Bartlett. I see a lot of hand wringing over DJT describing our predicament as a ‘Hoax.’ The man child at the helm of

Navigating the Descent, into the Abyss!

I first became interested in the collapse of complex societies when back packing in Southeast Asia in 1980, then when visiting Mayan ruins in Central America in 1982.I was in Berlin one week before the wall came down in 1989,

New analysis reveals glacier retreat will lead to loss of biodiversity as vital habitats for specialist species disappear

“The retreat of the planet’s glaciers is one of the most visible and dramatic indicators of the far-reaching impact of climate change on world’s ecosystems.” “Now a new paper published in Nature Reviews Biodiversity has shed further light on how glacial retreat drives unmitigated

The influence of climatic change on the Late Bronze Age Collapse and the Greek Dark Ages

Ignoring thousands of years of Anthropogenic emissions sealed our fate.A microcosm of “our collapsing civilization”, which is now unfolding in a non-linear, exponential fashion, as the six-dozen feedback loops we have triggered and ignored, kick in and kick us and

Kevin Hester

Kevin Hester is currently living on Rakino Island, a small island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand, monitoring the unravelling of the biosphere and volunteering at the Rakino Island Nursery is currently developing a proposal to create a marine reserve near by. The Island has no grid tied electricity or reticulated water.  I catch my own water from the roof and generate my electricity from the ample solar radiation on the island.
