“Australia’s lack of action on pollution reduction targets has made the country a laughing stock on the international stage, according to senator Larissa Waters“, and “Australia’s lack of follow-through on climate change will leave the Great Barrier Reef ‘completely cooked’ despite it signing the Paris climate deal, the Greens say.”
If Australia meets it’s carbon targets which is highly unlikely it will still cook the Great Barrier Reef.
The mostly likely scenario is that the emissions are being understated. The oceanic incubators have been fried, a perfect mirror of the entire biosphere.
2C would be dangerous, 4C would call into question the survivable of everything we know. 6C, the IPCC worst case scenario would be unsurvivable and guarantee the meltdown of 450 nuclear power stations and there 1200 spent fuel pool fires.
Climate deal won’t stop Great Barrier Reef from getting ‘cooked’, say Greens [1].

Flew out to the Barrier Reef from the Whitsundays in a seaplane in early 1988. We were able to stand on it, it cleared the surface by about 6 inches though the tide later quickly covered it by a few feet. I did some snorkelling off the side of the wall of coral. It was a wonder flying over open ocean and then seeing these islands of coral jutting out of the sea. To think that all that wonder land of coral is bleaching and turning white is sad. And the loss of life that represents.

I endorse your views… we need to keep 90% + fossil fuels in the ground or we will destroy the whole northern end of Australia… what’s happened to Great Barrier ref is human caused ecocide. http://despensable.com.au/indespensable/2015/06/global-warming-over-population-and-ecocide-urgent-problems-to-fix/

So with that for context, what do these two record breaking days mean, eh? Can we say oopsie?
Valentines Day hit an official worldwide record CO2 high of 421.59 ppm. And the Antarctic Sea Ice also hit the lowest level ever recorded THE SAME DAY.
