I’ve been saying for decades that I’ve lived in Two War Zones, I was mistaken, I omitted the most important war I’m co-waging, with billions of others, the war on the ecosystem.
‘Industrial Civilisation’ is at war with the living biome. Guess who’s ‘winning’?
In 1982 I flew from Aotearoa NZ to the USA, enroute to Nicaragua to support the Sandinista revolution. I was a newly qualified electrician, a valuable trade in a war zone. My Irish father had an “A Class Explosives” qualification from the NZ government, I got to blow stuff up with him as a kid, it was thrilling in the real sense. We blew up one large tree stump in suburban Auckland and at a couple of farm quarries we turned hill sides into rubble, Mea culpa. I started reading some of his training manuals as a teenager, then they mysteriously disappeared!
At the Guatemala/El Salvador border the wonderful Guatemalan immigration guards refused to let me cross into C.I.A. drug funded, war ravaged El Salvador. They said it was far too dangerous for me to cross. They almost certainly saved my 22-year-old life.
My first experience of kinetic war was in occupied West Belfast during our armed self-defense against the British invaders in Ireland and the ongoing occupation of the Six Counties, that was in the early 1980’s. I was regularly assaulted by the Brits, once at a funeral. Yes, you read that right, I was at a young volunteers’ funeral, we were mourning a comrade that had been executed by these same soldiers and a Brit officer took exception to my German registered VW Golf because the Provo’s and the INLA were bumping off Brit soldiers in occupied Germany. It’s my contention that Germany has been occupied by the USA since 1945. At the time of German Reunification in 1990, there were still about 200,000 US soldiers in Germany. President Joe Biden blew up the Nord Stream pipeline, tripling Germany’s energy cost, financially bringing the country to its knees, yet still its vacuous leaders remain mute!
It proves what vassal states the Western Europeans are.
I wrote about my time in Belfast, that article is titled: Adventures of a Member of the Diaspora in Occupied West Belfast. Obviously, these are the edited highlights.
Back to war again in 1991 when I worked on an EU funded development project in Mozambique, while the original nuclear armed Apartheid state to the South was behind an insurgency attacking the popular revolutionary government, mostly by terrorising rural communities to drive them off their ancestral land and into the cities as refugees, exactly as they did in Syria over the last 15 years.
I sometimes heard automatic weapons fire and felt and heard mortar rounds exploding at the nearby airport. Because I know what the vibrations and shock wave of a mortar round or a bomb feels like the plight of Palestinians and every other victim of Imperialism literally hits home for me.
When I was working at the port in Beira, there were more refugees in the city that the original inhabitants. Our team that was working on the high voltage transmission lines during that time had a herd of goats to ‘herd’ around the construction site, to detonate landmines laid by the South African mercenaries over night! My work colleagues faced those risks for a pittance. I wrote about our time in Africa: Adventures in Africa- Brushes with Death- A Love Story
Then there is the other war I am involved in, as a protagonist, against the living planet.
I had failed to interpret properly, that I, we, all the other earthlings are living in a perpetual war zone.
The empire of chaos has deliberately tried to turn Iran’s legitimate nuclear program, monitored by the IAEA, into a ‘dirty bomb’, as if there is any other kind of bomb, another breach of the Geneva Conventions.
Let’s now head over to persecuted Iran.
“Other targets that were hit included an oil refinery in Tehran and the city’s main gas depot, the South Pars Gas Field in the Persian Gulf, and the Fajr Jam gas plant in Bushehr. Israel has also attacked the nuclear facility at Natanz, missile storage and launch sites in Tabriz and Kermanshah, and an industrial complex in the northern provinces. The United States joined the war on June 21, and struck three nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and facilities near the ancient city of Isfahan.”
From the New Scientist article titled: The war lasted 12 days. The environmental impact on Iran may last decades
I highly recommend Glenn Diesen’s YouTube channel. He’s another superb anti-Imperialist professor.
The current Western supported Apartheid state in West Asia detonated a nuclear weapon in conjunction with South Africa in 1979.
After watching the pathology of the Netanyahu regime, it has now become more likely that they will use another one.
Iran has the ability to close the Straits of Hormuz to anyone they consider an adversary or connected to the wars on West Asia, that will send fuel futures through the roof and destabilise the global supply chains!
.
Now let’s remember that NATO dropped depleted uranium munitions on Serbia, the Serbian nation will live with the ecological consequences until this extinction event plays out.
“In Serbia, aggressive cancer among young and old has reached epidemic proportions in recent years. The suffering of the people cries out to heaven. The south of Serbia and Kosovo are particularly affected. According to the Serbian Ministry of Health, a child falls ill with cancer every day. The entire country is contaminated. Due to the damage to the genetic material (DNA), generations upon generations of deformed children will be born. Knowingly and willingly, genocide has been committed.”
“Here, with the tacit acquiescence of NATO allies – including Germany – the US army used weapons of mass destruction that it had already tested in the 2nd Gulf War in 1991 and in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1994/95: highly toxic and radioactive uranium weapons. NATO itself has admitted that it has fired 30,000 shells with depleted uranium (DU), the Serbian military speaks of 50,000 shells. This is equivalent to 10 to 15 tonnes of uranium.” source: NATO’s Use of Depleted Uranium Weapons in Serbia in 1999: The War that Won’t End
The video above formed the basis of my previous blog post titled Warmongering and the Climate Crisis
This is the last article written by Christopher C Black before his recent untimely death, R.I.P. comrade:
The Kiev-Washington Agreement Encourages More War
As we watch the Apartheid state and their cohorts in all of the Western Powers carry out a 600+ day genocide, the use of a nuke becomes more likely.

$2.7 trillion more spent on death and destruction, negating our tiny attempts to reduce emissions.
Good luck everyone, we’ll all be collateral damage.
Neither flora nor fauna survive war uninjured.
