“The heart of the economic disorder is a world financial system that has gone rogue.”
We are living in a ponzi scheme of credit–fiscal and environmental.
The entire economic system is a ponzi scheme inflated with fiat currency and contemporaneously we have been living beyond our Planetary Boundaries.
How on earth do people expect this house of cards to keep teetering along?
“China manufactured more cement from 2010-13 than the US had produced over the entire 20th century. It could not last and so it is proving.”
All this without considering the collapse of our biosphere which is progressing contemporaneously. Brace for imminent impact. Here is an epic link on our imminent collapse below:
I have completed 16 ocean passages on small yachts under 100 ft, over half as skipper, most in the Pacific Ocean. I have seen soot clouds miles long on the horizon long before the ships spewing them into the atmosphere motor over the horizon. At Cop Out 21 in Paris, yet again, transport emissions were omitted from the emission control protocols:
“According to its owners, Royal Caribbean, each of the Harmony’s three four-storey high 16-cylinder Wärtsilä engines will, at full power, burn 1,377 US gallons of fuel an hour, or about 96,000 gallons a day of some of the most polluting diesel fuel in the world.”
Please do not take a cruise and especially not into the Arctic now that human hubris has melted the sea ice and opened the North West Passage. Every piece of soot lands on the ice and snow, lowering the albedo, speeding up the 6th great extinction.
The true cost of cruising is well explained here: 16 of the world’s largest ships can produce as much lung-clogging sulphur pollution as all the world’s private vehicle fleet: The Worlds largest cruise liner and it’s pollution problem.
Unregulated emissions:
“In international waters ship emissions remains one of the least regulated parts of our global transportation system. The fuel used in ships is waste oil, basically what is left over after the crude oil refining process. It is the same as asphalt and is so thick that when cold it can be walked upon . It’s the cheapest and most polluting fuel available and the world’s 90,000 ships chew through an astonishing 7.29 million barrels of it each day, or more than 84% of all exported oil production from Saudi Arabia, the worlds largest oil exporter.”
This Tar like fuel is kept in fuel tanks with the exhaust systems ducted through them to keep the ‘fuel’ warm and viscous so it can be pumped. Most of these large ships start their engines using diesel fuel and wait until they are over the horizon before reverting to the high sulphur bunker fuel.
On the 21st of May 1981 Patsy O’Hara. I.N.L.A. volunteer and my comrade in the Irish Republican Struggle for a United Socialist Ireland lost his life at 11:29 pm, he died after 61 days days on Hunger Strike at the age of 23.
I had never met Patsy , he was only two years older than me and gave everything for our cause, but he and the other 9 brave men and their comrades inspired me as a member of the Irish Republican diaspora. Video Tribute below courtesy of RNU; A Tribute to Patsy O’Hara
I was 21 yrs old growing up on the other side of the world, a member of the Irish Republican diaspora. My fathers family had been dispersed around the planet due to their involvement in the struggle, my maternal grand father having suffered 23 days on a previous hunger-strike.
As the 10 brave men were dying I remember well my mother saying ” What must their mothers be going through”…….. I used to have to cross the spot in Gibraltar where Mairead Farell, Sean Savage and Dan McCann were executed in a “Shoot to Kill” operation when they were on active service in Gibraltar. Every time I crossed that airfield I expected the same.
I hold the leadership of the IRA who are now the leadership of Sinn Fein responsible for the unnecessary deaths of these 13 and many more. Whilst our brave volunteers were out on active service, these enemy within our ranks were negotiating surrender with the British Imperialists and their collaborators with no promise that the terms the struggle was fought on were being met.
I had the opportunity to name a road in NZ and I asked my father if he wanted the family name on the road. He answered ” No son, dedicate it to someone who deserves it more. Hence Patsy O’Hara Pl in Auckland NZ came into being. Image design courtesy of my brother Clark Gregory.
Rest in peace our brave volunteers and a curse on the traitors to our cause, for me they are worse than the enemy in the imperialist uniform that occupies the 6 counties.
As our Abrupt Climate Change Catastrophe becomes more extreme the leading cause of death on the planet will be humans hitting their Wet Bulb Temperature.
“It has been widely believed that a 35°C wet-bulb temperature (equal to 95°F at 100% humidity or 115°F at 50% humidity) was the maximum a human could endure before they could no longer adequately regulate their body temperature, which would potentially cause heat stroke or death over a prolonged exposure.”
“Wet-bulb temperature is read by a thermometer with a wet wick over its bulb and is affected by humidity and air movement. It represents a humid temperature at which the air is saturated and holds as much moisture as it can in the form of water vapor; a person’s sweat will not evaporate at that skin temperature.”
“But in their new study, the researchers found that the actual maximum wet-bulb temperature is lower — about 31°C wet-bulb or 87°F at 100% humidity — even for young, healthy subjects. The temperature for older populations, who are more vulnerable to heat, is likely even lower.” Humans can’t endure temperatures and humiditie’s as high and previously thought”
“In a recent study with Matt Huber, we showed that it doesn’t take that many degrees of global warming to permit peak heat summertime heat stress to (occasionally) become unsurvivable, in many parts of the world that are currently highly populated.”
“We came to this conclusion by considering a meteorological quantity called the wet-bulb temperature. You measure this quantity with a normal thermometer that has a damp cloth covering the bulb. It is always lower than the usual or “dry-bulb” temperature; how much lower depends on the humidity. At 100% humidity (in a cloud or fog) they match. In Sydney and Melbourne, even during the hottest weather, the wet-bulb usually peaks in the low 20’s C. The highest values in the world are about 30-31C, during the worst heat/humidity events in India, the Amazon, and a few other very humid places. As the subservient government of John Key continues to normalise relations with the US Killing Machine and has decided to allow US Military vessels back into our territorial waters, Officially from November, we will see the teetering marine food web come in for another local hammering.
The endangered Maui’s Dolphin , reduced to less than 60 on it’s inexorable decent to extinction just encountered a new deadly foe. History will show John Key as the Prime Minister at the helm of our sinking ship who signed the Maui’s extinction warrant.
Professor Guy McPherson will be touring NZ with me in November where we will discuss species extinctions that include humans.
As a result of Arctic Amplification we have been witnessing temperature anomalies in the Arctic in the double figures. Now in Australia we have 9.5C anomalies in Autumn.
We are now in runaway abrupt climate change when we are approximately 1.5C above the 1870 baseline.
We were sold the myth that 2C would be ” Safe” when we can obviously see that it won’t be. Imagine what the IPCC worst case scenario of 6C would be like?
Professor Guy McPherson will be touring NZ in November talking about Runaway Abrupt Climate Change and the domino effect that these temperatures will trigger in the collapse of our biosphere.
The Guardian article regarding these anomalies is linked below:
Our ecosystem is in exponential collapse, yet in our climate change circles, there is a preponderance of articles dealing with icecap melt and rising sea levels, as if these things were happening in isolation.
None of these disasters are happening in isolation. Ocean dead-zones, entire species washing up dead on beaches, whale strandings, the list goes on, all are intrinsically linked.
We are in the early stages of collapse, soon we will look back and ask ” What was the tipping point”. There were, have been, hundreds. It’s just that nobody listened:
‘Scientists are extremely worried over the loss of mangroves in the Gulf of Carpentaria, possibly due to warmer ocean temperatures. For months, the mangrove trees are dying in that region. However, scientists came to know of the loss only recently as the mangrove trees are located in very remote areas of Queensland. Even though the scientists are unsure of what caused this loss, they are certain that the loss is unprecedented and extensive. ‘Duke likes to think of mangroves as “coastal kidneys” as they clean the water flowing from land into sea.
‘Corals and seagrass depend on the mangrove trees for clean water. The trees do the water filtering on the coast. Mangroves also play a major role in the ecosystem where they act as massive reservoirs of carbon storage. They not only store the carbon within, they also trap carbon deep inside their extensive root network. Themangroves can store up to five times more carbon than normal forests. If they start dying in such massive numbers, they will release the carbon in the atmosphere, which will further contribute to global warming‘. Full article continues here:
We have exceeded our planetary boundaries and are in the free-fall stage of this disaster.
For the people of Africa this collapse is already underway, it’s only an “Academic discussion” in privileged circles predominantly in the Affluent West.
“If we don’t reverse this trend, we’ll eventually reach a point where the biomass battery discharges to a level at which Earth can no longer sustain us,” Schramski said.
Sorry to be the ‘Bringer’ of bad news but if you factor in Runaway Abrupt Climate Change and the 10 to 40 year lag between cause and effect you can see that the credit the planet is living on has Expired.
Professor Guy McPherson and myself will tour NZ in November 2016 talking about the immediate consequences that will unfold as the greatest experiment in the history of our species plays out on the unsuspecting.
Habitat collapse, Global Economic collapse, Habitat, Food and Water wars. 450 Nuclear Power Station melt-downs and 1200 spent fuel pool fires. Welcome to our dystopian future that will very soon be our reality.

‘Unless humans slow the destruction of Earth’s declining supply of plant life, civilization like it is now may become completely unsustainable, according to a paper published recently by University of Georgia researchers in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
“You can think of the Earth like a battery that has been charged very slowly over billions of years,” said the study’s lead author, John Schramski, an associate professor in UGA’s College of Engineering. “The sun’s energy is stored in plants and fossil fuels, but humans are draining energy much faster than it can be replenished.” Article in full, continues here: ‘Earth’s ‘Battery’ Draining Too Fast to Sustain Life‘:
We are in the early stage of runaway abrupt warming that will lead to the collapse of the biosphere.
All science papers and most analysis is very conservative, that is not my role.
I follow the “Precautionary Principle” and can patently see runaway abrupt climate change gaining pace literally every day.
My friend and colleague Professor Guy McPherson will be returning to NZ in November to discuss the implications of Runaway Abrupt Climate Change and how quickly the biosphere will unravel.
Consider the data in this excellent article below from “Think Progress” and consider what the worst case scenario could be When not if, a multitude of tipping points are crossed and kick in. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Edited on 25/05/18 Exploration – Run Away Global Warming. Host Dr. Michio Kaku speaks with Dr. Peter Ward on the topic of Run-Away Global Warming. I believe they are both being overly conservative.
Check out my and Guy McPherson’s excellent radio show archive at prn.fm for regular updates and excellent commentary on the predicament we find ourselves in.

In November 2016 Professor Guy McPherson will be returning to NZ for another speaking tour on Runaway Abrupt Climate Change. , more details to follow shortly. This is a 2015 presentation which will give interested parties an idea of what to expect.
Kevin Hester is currently living on Rakino Island, a small island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand, monitoring the unravelling of the biosphere and volunteering at the Rakino Island Nursery is currently developing a proposal to create a marine reserve near by. The Island has no grid tied electricity or reticulated water. I catch my own water from the roof and generate my electricity from the ample solar radiation on the island.
