The Pain You Feel Is Capitalism and the Living Planet Dying.

1-pPDKvJZiZH5uEz3QTkSSUg

We have exceeded all of our planetary boundaries and we have psychopaths at the helm of our sinking ship, armed to the teeth. They will fight to the bitter end. Nowhere on the planet do I see a political party planning for the collapse of society and our biosphere.  We go into collapse leader-less, with thousands of nuclear weapons on a hair trigger. The human movie can only end badly, very badly and very soon and we take the rest of the complex life-forms with us down the cul de sac of extinction.  More on ‘The Collapse of Industrial Civilisation‘, here.

Dahr Jamail  and Guy McPherson discuss this same subject here:  ‘Mass Extinction: It’s the End of the World as We Know It‘:  “Today’s current scientific and observable evidence strongly suggests we are in the midst of the same process – only this time it is anthropogenic, and happening exponentially faster than even the Permian mass extinction did.”  Continues at link.

Industrial civilisation is a heat machine that is killing the living planet and cowboy capitalism is at the helm of our sinking ship.

Karl Marx was vilified for his criticisms of capitalism’s infinite growth  paradigm where in reality Infinite growth on a finite planet was always unsustainable and now is knocking at the door.
———-

Also very good:  ‘The Pain You Feel Is Capitalism and the living planet dying‘:  “It can be very confusing to know that you won’t find a decent job, pay off student loans or put in a down payment on a house in the next few years — even though you may have graduated from a top-tier university or secured glowing references from all those unpaid internships that got you to where you are today.

Even if you are lucky enough to have all of this going for you, you’ll still be one among hundreds of applicants for every job you apply for. And you’ll still watch as the world becomes more unequal, with fewer paid opportunities to do what you feel called to do in your work or for your life path.

What’s more, you won’t find much help from your friends because most (if not all) of them are going through the same thing. This is a painful and difficult time that is impacting all of us at once.

There will be people who tell you it’s your fault. That you aren’t trying hard enough….”  .

I'm an anti-imperialist, environmental activist and blue ocean sailor, who is passionate about the earth and all it's inhabitants without favour. Brace for imminent impact as we bare witness to the non-linear unraveling of the biosphere and habitability disappearing for most if not all complex life on the only habitable planet we know of. To quote President Niinistö in North Russia: ‘If We Lose the Arctic, We Lose the World’. Folks we have lost the Arctic.

All too true. And, it is not just captalism and its neoliberalist variant. A major part of the problem is Modernism, especially the false belief in the totally synthetic society, cut off from the inherent wisdom of Mother Nature, caught in the delusional trap that ‘man’ cna somehow do as well as Nature and impose our will on the world. It’s totally insane, but nobody cares. The works of two French scholars are especailly relevant to this: Jean Baudrillard, on the consumer society and the synthetic society, and Bruno Latour, on the delusions of Modernism.

    … Stop!
Withdraw – just stop participating in, consenting to, and sustaining this bullshit system guys!
To Be, Or Not To Be – THAT IS THE QUESTION which we each need to be determining NOW – NOT SOMETIME LATER. NOW, for ourselves.
You’d think that this was fckng rocket science, the way that people are oohing and aching about it all. IT’S NOT.
You either want to save yourself, and save our planet, or you choose to sit on your arse watching the fckg Kardashians – submit and perish.
Freewill – we are ALL SOVEREIGN MULTI-DIMENSIONAL BEINGS. Divine Sparks of Prime Source – Spirit beings who are experiencing Life in the physical realm, on the plane of matter. We’re co-creators-in-training – well, that was the plan, but other influences have crashed our party, and as you can see, are intent on essentially tearing up our home planet, and enslaving everybody!
You – YOU need to do some soul-searching… you – not anyone else, need to determine for yourself, whether you will be at peace with the role that you are playing today on planet Earth.
WE ARE who we are waiting for, but have been deceived by Corruption – manipulate and condition us into believing otherwise – they’ve been doing this, enslaving our minds, our Consciousness for THOUSANDS OF YEARS. THINK ABOUT THIS…
They’re NOT GODS, they’re not Masters of the fckng Universe – and we’re NOT obligated to put up with their bullshit …
Spend some time getting to know yourSelf – the Sovereign, Higher You. Love, Truth, Wisdom, Power – Conscious Awareness – with Creative Intent Sovereign Humanity can change and save the world.
… What is your Sovereign Intent? To Be Or Not To Be?
    This is the question.

Unfortunately, we are an intrenched race. The blatantly obvious is that they are doing the unthinkable on the guise of beliefs held by the conservatives that are trapped in a false reality that gets passed on to our kids. Those that see the reality of the situation are mocked whenever they raise their voices. Called tin hatters, crazy and among the brainwashed population discredited. Fortunately, collective concious is gathering momentum. Our most interesting question is not about whether aliens do or dont exist but more about if shadow governments and the real monsters that are destroying our earth for profit and gain exist. They do and they are taking our earth and wealth with them.

“Over the last century, capitalism has repeatedly revealed its worst tendencies: instability and inequality. Instances of instability include the Great Depression (1929-1941) and the Great Recession since 2008, plus eleven “downturns” in the US between those two global collapses. Each time, millions lost jobs, misery soared, poverty worsened and massive resources were wasted. Leaders promised that their “reforms” would prevent such instability from recurring. Those promises were not kept. Reforms did not work or did not endure. The system was, and remains, the problem.”

“Inequality likewise proved to be an inherent trend of capitalism. ”

“The brutal acts associated with the process of stripping the majority of the people of the means of producing for themselves might seem far removed from the laissez-faire reputation of classical political economy,” writes Perelman. “In reality, the dispossession of the majority of small-scale producers and the construction of laissez-faire are closely connected, so much so that Marx, or at least his translators, labeled this expropriation of the masses as ‘‘primitive accumulation.’’

It’s rare, possibly unique for me to agree with a post to the degree I relate to this.
Industrial civilisation was the machine that when being ‘helmed’ by capitalism drove the entire biosphere off the cliff.
We’re in the ‘Free Fall’ stage, it’s not the fall that hurts, it’s the collapse at the bottom on impact that will wreck this set of living arrangements irretrievably.

  24. A realistic view of the changing climate is not doomerism.

“To say that amazing work is being done to combat climate change and to say that almost no progress has been made is not a contradiction. It’s a simple statement of fact.” Elizabeth Kolbert, New Yorker Magazine contributor and author of the Sixth Mass Extinction
    ___

Huge outcry about the ‘Doomers’ popped up on this site last week. Even with Biden opening up the Arctic to the gi-fucking-gantic Willow Bay fossil fuel shit, it’s like the optimistic ‘can’t be happening’ crowd is getting more frantic with the in-your-damned-face radical weather events going on all around the world and start pointing fingers at realists who can hand them the science facts that dash their hopes. In other words, don’t tell them the truth because they DON’T WANT TO HEAR THAT SHIT! Doomers are the cause of all the problems???!!!!

“Preliminary information based on estimates from storm reports and radar data indicate the tornado was on the ground for more than an hour and traversed at least 170 miles (274 kilometers), said Lance Perrilloux, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Jackson, Mississippi, office.

“That’s rare — very, very rare,” he said, attributing the long path to widespread atmospheric instability.”

Two hundred seventy-four kilometers long!! Holy shit!

But of course they don’t want to hear reality! Do they even understand why the MONSTER fucking tornado that just tore through the poorest part of Mississippi two days ago? “Atmospheric instability’ is not in their lexicon.

But of course not, it’s all ‘God’s will’ and all the rest of that crap, right? Lots of thoughts and prayers spewing out of buttholes, and funny how MAGA red state fuckhead politicians like Governor TaterTot screaming for federal aid (that is completely funded by blue progressive states like mine) while they talk ‘national divorce’ and openly speak of killing Democrats and anybody else considered ‘liberal.’

It’s fucking insane. They’re fucking insane.

My knee-jerk response is to LET THEM sort the damage out using their own state funds they have to spare (in Mississippi?? Ahahahaha!) because it’s one state that HATES SOCIALISM and even refused to expand federal Medicaid coverage for poor people.Their OWN poor people. That just got blasted by this tornadoe. It’s fucking insane.

God must really hate the slave-state South because there have been tornadoes every month smashing towns all winter. Like California wildfires, the season is now year-round.

My morning rant about stupid fucking people that want to shoot me for my thinking.

    Big sigh.

When I was a schoolboy, I was walking along a bush track in the Kaimai ranges in Aotearoa NZ with my dad.
At a swimming hole dad pointed to a rock and said “Look at that rock son, it’s probably been here hundreds of thousands of years, maybe millions and then someone like us walks by and in the blink of an eye they say they own it. Think about how ridiculous that is.”
Her also said “If we don’t overthrow capitalism, it will make the planet uninhabitable” and here we are.
We had no shortage of warnings where this runaway freight train is heading.
It reminds me of another quote, “People of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material portion of their privilege.” John Kenneth Galbraith courtesy of Guy also.

Kevin Hester is currently living on Rakino Island, a small island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand, monitoring the unravelling of the biosphere and volunteering at the Rakino Island Nursery is currently developing a proposal to create a marine reserve near by. The Island has no grid tied electricity or reticulated water.  I catch my own water from the roof and generate my electricity from the ample solar radiation on the island.
