It really hasn’t snowed since the December ‘Bomb Cyclone’ out of the Arctic (Polar Vortex) that brushed by me. Just an inch here or a couple inches there, a few dustings overnight that completely melt off during the day. Rain both last month and Still have a snowpack but it’s just rock-hard icy crap with meltwater on top that makes it slicker than frog snot on a heated window.
Roofs drip water all day, and it rained Tuesday all day. So much for winter, eh?
My snowboarding hill keeps trumpeting what a wonderful winter they’re having…with a whole 86″ of base the 2nd week of February. Twenty years ago this low-elevation hill averaged 305″ a season with powder dumps that were frequent. Not anymore.
I’m already trying to figure out how to survive the coming El Nino predicted for this summer. Holy shit, worse than the 120’F/50’C of 2021 which was Year 2 of the La Nina cooling trend? I honestly have no idea.

Christo-Fascism has been the dominant political view for a very long time in this country. That it has exploded into the open with the onset of extremists rightwingers MAGA white-power racists and neo-Fascist armed militias is somewhat mindboggling for we who have critical thinking skills.
That it has combined with the seriously deluded ‘believer’ Evangelicals is even more frightening because religion bestows the right to do anything to anyone who isn’t. And this is now all wrapped up into the so-called ‘Christian Nationalist’ movement…and all support the Nazi slogan-spouting Trump as the one picked by their GOD to rule America.
Point of fact, this is NOT ‘America’ but the United States OF America whose founding document, the Constitution, explicitly describes the division between religion and State.

You did hear about the US State of Oklahoma passing the LAW that REQUIRES the teaching of the Christian Bible (which version I wonder?) in every single school from Kindergarten through University level.
Can’t graduate without knowing your bible is now the LAW.
And wasn’t it Louisiana that also pass a law that now requires the Ten Commandments to be posted in legible large script on every classroom wall?
But in Louisiana I think it will no doubt be used to remind kids of every commandment that Trump has repeatedly broken! Think of that; you could have a classroom contest to teach Civics at the same time by awarding the student that can cite all the latest that Trump has broken recently…
